![]() ![]() It would be enticing as there will be free weeks and discounted weeks and you could earn additional free weeks for referrals, but think hard before you sign up. They basically want you to sign up for the palace elite membership. While you are there, they'll lure you with a 90 minute tour in exchange for $300 - $400 ultimate cash. If you go to any palace resorts, we went to the grand moon palace in Cancun, just enjoy your time there. Also posted on TripAdvisor as I think people should know this before they visit instead of going to palace resorts and signing of membership based on the sales guys false claims. This is from the personal experience just a month ago. I called my bank and explained everything that happened I will be reaching out to Costco and asking them to no longer offer them in there travel because of my experience. Long story short I emailed them the day after I got home and there response was no we will not cancel your membership. I already felt extremely uncomfortable with them having my passport. ![]() They charged my card $5000.00 as down payment for something I was not interested in but the wouldn't take no for am answer or let me leave what was I supposed to do. I thought well once I am back home I will email them to cancel. Once in the room and passports returned I called the same department to tell them to cancel the membership (same day) they keep giving me the run around or would just hang up. I finally just signed to get the hell out of there. I felt panicked they had our passports and credit card. I folded but once in the finance department the man who was pressuring me was gone so I told the finace rep that I didn't want to become a member and she would call this man back in every time I said I didn't want to do this. After realizing they weren't going to let us leave until I signed there membership. This was starting to feel like a hostage situation as they did have our passports and credit card. I asked to leave and they said I couldn't leave. By this time its nearly 2pm mind you the tour started at 8am. ![]() After the tour we were taken to a room I think I told the salesman 3 times that I wasn't interested but he kept pressuring me. ![]() Once there they required you to bring a credit card and passport for a" raffle " of a free 7 day stay. My sister wanted the resort credit so I agreed to go. I couldn't imagine having nicer service and for us it doesn't seem worth it to be married to one specific resort when we're getting royal treatment there already without a leash.Į Hotel itself was beautiful but I purchased my vacation threw Costco travel upon checking in my sister and I where offered a complimentary $750 dollars in resort credit for 90 minutes tour. They made it sound like Palace basically has you pre-pay all of your stays and it just becomes another monthly payment like a mortgage, but you're tied to only that report group (albeit a really nice one in our experience.) As a member you can get upgrades and a different bracelet and vacations at a relatively discount rate, but we booked through Costco and were able to fly down first class round trip for 7 days and it was $3500 and we received world class treatment the whole week, including top shelf booze included for non-members (Bombay Sapphire gin, Belvedere vodka, etc (you have to request it specifically)). One couple we met was a little older, had 3 kids and 6 grand kids and they still had over 100 weeks at the resorts they couldn't use up or give away. The main message from 4 or 5 different member couples was DONT SIGN UP. Though we're not members, here's what the members did tell us throughout the week. We were just there at Sun Palace all last week and spent the day at Moon Palace Sunrise for our final day. ![]()
